Task of the Day

T.O.D.
Task of the Day--- A daily inspiration and spiritual call to action.

The Challenge:

Creatively enrich your/my/our spiritual growth and personal relationship with Jesus Christ while utilizing this forum to regularly hold each other accountable and lift each other up!

How it Works:

Following prayer and consultation with the Lord, I will post a task every day. Each task will correspond to a Word from God/scripture. At each day's end, you are invited to post the results of the task in action including artifacts from the journey. I imagine that some days will feel more successful than others. Additionally/realistically, "daily" may end up being "weekly" during certain seasons.

The Goals:

The overall goal is to deliberately carve out the time and put work into each day to become better lovers. Let us love ourselves better, love strangers, friends, enemies and family better. Let us love God better. Did you know that of all the richness that is God's Holy Scriptures, the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love people?! (Matthew 22:36-40) Basically, love is a big deal and we want to get better at it and walk in it.

Each T.O.D. is meant to focus on a bite-sized, actionable step to help us recognize what love looks like on a day to day basis so that we may recreate it and dwell in it... and it in us.

Let us welcome God into our lives and allow ourselves to be perfected.

The Invitation:

You are invited to join me in each T.O.D. and I encourage you to post your results as well. Although tasks are designed as "daily bread", definitely wrap them into a week, month, year, until they are engrained into your daily members. There is only one rule. You must be honest and transparent about your struggles and successes! Testify! Please invite others to join us on this fantastic voyage!

Be Blessed!

What Was Christ Thinking?

Scripture:
Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Note:
Today's T.O.D. was contributed by a new Christian soldier. Sister Sonya B. is a multimedia student in Boston, MA. She dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, was baptized in Jesus' name, and was filled with the Holy Spirit two years ago. She loves the LORD and has made up her mind to walk in His ways.

Thank you Sis for making yourself available for the LORD's use!

Here's the word TODders:

Inspiration:
I recently picked up a new read “Battlefield of the Mind” and in one of the beginning chapters the author  talks about how we should think positive thoughts.  I took a couple days to really examine myself and pray that God would apply the eye salve to my eyes that I may see the conditions of my heart. Soon after, I realized that my thought process really wasn’t that positive. If I could be transparent with you for moment, I have to confess that I struggle with doubt, fear, lack of confidence… all that. I thought on and prayed for God to give me a remedy. This is what the Lord gave me:

What you think about yourself ultimately determines how you feel about yourself. It also sets the mood for the day / week/ year that your going to have...
*********
Having the mind of a conqueror lets us know that no matter the situation, we will be victorious and overcome. When we lack confidence,  every situation seems hard. I have experienced cases of anxiety that keep me from the things that make me happy.  This is not of God. God has a plan for us to propser,(Jerimah 29:11) to be the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13). And this is what our thought process should be.

TASK OF THE DAY 12:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

  &

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

****Let us consider what would Christ think in this situation and let us be transformed by embracing and putting on the mind of Christ. ****

  1. Reading this blessed me! I also have issues with insecurity doubt and fear! But God just recently (He always has) told me that I do not belong to fear, doubt, and insecurity but that I belonged to him! I had to realize that the Holy Spirit and fear could not dwell in the same space and for so long I allowed fear to dwell. NOT ANYMORE. It's a battle everyday for me but God reassured me that the Battle is not mine but it's the Lord's.
