"But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." James 1:25 (KJV)
Task of the Day
T.O.D.
Task of the Day--- A daily inspiration and spiritual call to action.
The Challenge:
Creatively enrich your/my/our spiritual growth and personal relationship with Jesus Christ while utilizing this forum to regularly hold each other accountable and lift each other up!
How it Works:
Following prayer and consultation with the Lord, I will post a task every day. Each task will correspond to a Word from God/scripture. At each day's end, you are invited to post the results of the task in action including artifacts from the journey. I imagine that some days will feel more successful than others. Additionally/realistically, "daily" may end up being "weekly" during certain seasons.
The Goals:
The overall goal is to deliberately carve out the time and put work into each day to become better lovers. Let us love ourselves better, love strangers, friends, enemies and family better. Let us love God better. Did you know that of all the richness that is God's Holy Scriptures, the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love people?! (Matthew 22:36-40) Basically, love is a big deal and we want to get better at it and walk in it.
Each T.O.D. is meant to focus on a bite-sized, actionable step to help us recognize what love looks like on a day to day basis so that we may recreate it and dwell in it... and it in us.
Let us welcome God into our lives and allow ourselves to be perfected.
The Invitation:
You are invited to join me in each T.O.D. and I encourage you to post your results as well. Although tasks are designed as "daily bread", definitely wrap them into a week, month, year, until they are engrained into your daily members. There is only one rule. You must be honest and transparent about your struggles and successes! Testify! Please invite others to join us on this fantastic voyage!
Be Blessed!

See God in His Handiwork
Scripture:
PSALM 9:1-6 (KJV)
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
Inspiration:
In the midst of prayer and praising God, Psalm 9:1 and Psalm 9:5 emerged: The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork...Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
Last night, I watched a special on Orcas. In general, I have had an affinity for all types of whales since a season of my life where had the pleasure of working in an Arctic Museum. In this space and time, I learned marvels about creatures of whose names I could barely pronounce. In this space, prior to explicitly pursuing God, I knew in my members that only He could author such an intricate design. Orcas travel in groups and breathe in unison, a blue whale's heart can weigh up to 1,300 pounds and beats only 10 times per minute, whales can hold their breath for up to an hour, whales sing and they are incredibly intelligent creatures with the largest brains in the animal kingdom. Needless to say, these animals are impressive! Science is only barely beginning to uncover and describe the fingernail of God's masterpiece. I am in awe.
TASK OF THE DAY 2:
Take the time today to see... really SEE the perfection of God's design. As you see and marvel, be reinvigorated in knowing the intentionality of God. If God puts so much into the design of the earth, heavens, sea, and creatures, then what kind of gems has He placed in us? Just like whales have everything they need built inside of them to survive and thrive, God has equipped us with everything that we need to survive and thrive. Forget about what we may deem "flaws" or "shortcomings" and simply, SEE that God has already figured out everything!
Let's focus the next 24 hours on seeing the perfection of God's design. #T.O.D. for God
