Scripture:
2 Cor 4:17 (KJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
Inspiration:
This revelatory phrase came to me in a dream. In the dream, a struggle between good and evil ensued. In the midst of the battle, paralysis threatened to claim me but I realized that amidst the futility of all other offenses and defenses , I could still praise God. The evil one could not steal my praise. Physically bound yet determined to praise God, the evil one attempted to discourage my growing power by planting seeds of doubt. What if this isn't a dream? What if you really are paralyzed? Do you know how long this bondage is going to last? Empowered by praise and convinced of God's promises, I responded, "It doesn't matter how long". I considered the current struggle juxtapose eternity and realized that such a comparison was laughable in its absurdity. No matter how long the current struggle lasted, God promised me eternity in glory with Him... and so I would fight... and I would press on... for however long. Upon receiving this revelation, the chains loosed, the paralysis ended and I immediately awoke (Jumping and leaping and praising God as it were...).
TASK OF THE DAY 1:
Today's task, the first task of 2014, is to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit, longsuffering. Patience is the focus of the day. Throughout today and your various interactions with self, with people, and with God, keep in mind and act on the revelation that "It doesn't matter how long"... Tomorrow's benefits/promises tremendously outweigh the "suffering" of today.
Let's focus the next 24 hours on today's task. #T.O.D. for God
