Mark 12:41 (KJV)
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
Inspiration:
Remember this widow and also the widow who had only a little flour and oil for a last meal for her and her son in the midst of a famine (See previous post: "Help Needed. Apply Within"). Both widows lacked. Both widows gave in the midst of their lack. And both widows reaped bountifully. We are all in need of something. If you have trouble differentiating between needs, wants, and desires, then ask God to show you the difference.
TASK OF THE DAY:
What needs do you currently have? Do you need more time, more money, more friends or more love? Do you need more patience, more compassion, or more courage? If you are totally incognizant and have no idea what you need, then it's highly likely that someone close to you has articulated a "you need XYZ..." proclamation at some point. Examine yourself, be humble, and determine whether there is any ounce of truth in their feedback. Think about your needs.... write them down.....and do what the poor widow did, she gave away the very thing that she lacked, the very thing that she needed and had so little of. For today's T.O.D., proactively seek out opportunities to give whatever little you do have away and allow God to bless you! If you feel so inclined, share your experience in the comments section! #T.O.D.forGod #BetterLover
